Well, wasn’t that fun! 11 of us met at the Big Basin Headquarters, well, actually it was an intricate web of carpools and calculations, but in any case our run starts at the top, and follows the Skyline to Sea trail to the beach at Waddell Creek. Our halfway point is Berry Falls, with lots of water this year, so beautiful!
The whole forest just smelled wonderful (despite our bug spray and SPF lotions) and the light fog to sunny day with a cool breeze provided perfect conditions for a 12-ish mile run up and down and around and then down again. After the falls and a few increasingly less dramatic hills, we arrive at sea level, greeted by rose bushes and following dragonflies down to the ocean.
And yes we followed that up with breakfast at the Whale City Bakery in Davenport. Yum!
